What can you do?

The next step in our charge to bring positive, lasting change to neglected peoples of the world is to ADVOCATE. Before you take action, you have to take a stand.  That involves becoming informed in what the major issues are plaguing the majority of the world.

Know the issues. As a student-run organization, we want all people, especially the American youth, to unite under a common desire to stop ignoring, and start caring. Find Your Issue

1. Student Movement Book Club

The Student Movement Book Club is a resource which allows our members to learn, educate, and contribute.  The book club contains a list of books and reviews on troubling issues in the developing world and other global issues.  We encourage you to find a book on or off of the list and submit your own book review.

2. News Sources

Our list of News Sources contain several news providers which will allow you to become and remain educated on a slew of global issues from South America to Africa to Asia.  In addition to several useful news providers we have links to several human rights NGOs which can provide more in depth research into specific issue areas.

4. Find Your Issue

If you are not already head over heals, passionate, ready to dedicate your life to fighting for a particular issue but have an inkling that global health and education interests you and you would like to help, you have found the right organization. However, if you already know exactly the injustice you intend to solve, skip to the "How to Advocate" section.

No one can tell you what issue is going to inspire most. The best advice is to stay informed, read as much as you can, watch films and keep and open mind. Often a really great professor at your school will do it, an experience both home and/or abroad, an article, or a movie.
